Certifying Engineer:
Line Maintenance Manager
Lagos
Assist the Line Maintenance Manager in managing the day to day line
maintenance and all outstations as required.
This will include overseeing the wet lease operations which is contracted to
Virgin Nigeria, the support of the company’s activities under NCAA’s approval and ensuring compliance with the technical
content of customer requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
_ Ensure strict adherence to the manufacturers
documented maintenance procedures to sustain the
safe and economical operation of the Company’s and
Customers’ aircraft fleets.
_ Implement and keep under review the “Maintenance
Procedure” section of the company procedure manual,
where applicable which supports the company exposition.
_ Ensure the Maintenance Units and Line Maintenance
stations are operated under cost effective measures to
produce safe, clean, serviceable and reliable aircraft to
meet the requirements of the Corporate flight
Programme on a daily basis.
_ Ensure that the regular routine maintenance
requirements are accomplished to the correct
standards of airworthiness at all times.
_ Ensure that non-routine maintenance requirements are
administered in a cost - effective and expedient fashion.
In addition to this, the engineer has to meet exacting
standards of airworthiness whilst attempting to meet
the aircraft’s operational programme.
_ As the first level of technical supervision Responsible for
the quality standards of maintenance tasks
accomplished by team members and self.
_ Observance and maintenance of Health, Safety and
environmental requirement/regulation.
_ Must accomplish and administer the operational
maintenance activities in an efficient manner within
various operational parameters and often under difficult
circumstances.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
The following qualification and skills are essential:
_ Successful completion of a recognised aeronautical
apprenticeship or formal training package. Usual
duration 3 to 4 years
_ Must hold a B737-300-400-500 approved course.
_ The CAA also prefers to see a good standard of
academic qualification in Aeronautical Engineering
subjects. Engineers normally obtain these qualifications
during the apprenticeship scheme.
_ Certifying Engineers are a legal requirement as dictated
in the NCAA. The NCAA requires that Aircraft Engineers
possessing the privilege of maintenance certification
hold Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licenses and
appropriate Company Approval.
_ Possession of a sound aircraft engineering background
with at least 15 years experience of which 10 years
should have been in certifying role.
_ Must be Computer literate
_ Possession of a valid drivers licence
_ Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written)
_ Willingness to travel at short notice
_ Proactive attitude and positive approach to problem
solving
_ Willingness to travel

_ Ability to assimilate, interpret and communicate
information quickly and effectively
_ Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
_ Ability to work under pressure and must be a team player
Working Relationships:
1. Internal: Engineering team, Flight Operations and
Airworthiness team and other relevant internal departments
2. External: NCAA, FAAN and other relevant authorities.
